Ghost Whisperers of Lakewood: Building Community Identity From the Past

Build an Epitaph

In "George Gray," the image on the speaker's tombstone is that of a boat tucked safely in the harbor.  Does he think this is an accurate representation of his life, or does he feel another image would have been more appropriate?  Why?

The picture of the monument on the the left tells a much different story.  What does this "tombstone" say about the person buried here?  What does this structure symbolize?  What does it say about the person's wealth?  status?  importance to others?  Could you compose a brief epitaph (the words inscribed on a tomb) that would describe this person's life?
