The Declaration of Independence written in 1776 by Thomas Jefferson was one of the most significant historical documents of all time. Clearly denouncing the British government and King George III it has served as a model of liberty for countless amounts of individuals around the world. It not only symbolizes freedom but also defines the unalienable rights of Life liberty and the persuit of Happiness in which the foundation of the United States government was built upon
We hold these truths to be self evident that all men are created equal that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights that among these are Life Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness Why are these words written by Thomas Jefferson in 1776 only an ideal? Who did this phrase leave out? How have individuals worked to achieve the ideals of the Declaration of Independence?
