Bill Roberts' cartoon depicts the lower half of a man walking and carrying a shopping bag. The shopping bag has the image of men and women lined up holding shopping bags each with a letter on it spelling out "Severance Center."

In the mid-1970s Cuyahoga County's archivist introduced a plan to build a garden mall on the old Rocky River Bridge. The mall was not to be; the bridge was razed in 1981.

Richmond Mall opened 1966 in Richmond Heights. Today it is known as Richmond Town Square.
