Description
The Detroit-Superior Bridge is constructed, ca. 1915. Detroit Superior, also known today as the Veteran's Memorial Bridge, connects downtown with the west side. Opened on Thanksgiving Day in 1917, the two level bridge carried cars and pedestrian traffic on the upper level and electric streetcars on the lower level. A few times each year a tour of the lower level, now closed, is available.
