Description
This picture represent the new educational wing that was built in 1971. It was designed by Marcel Breuer and Hamilton Smith. It was under construction for two years and cost about ten million dollars. The building exterior is made out of a gray striped granite material.The architectural style is more monolithic which is in a sharp contrast to the original building which has a Georgian architectural style. The North entrance to this new wing has become the main entrance of the Cleveland Museum of Art. Inside the new addition, there is 154 seats lecture and recital rooms, ten classrooms, three audio-visual rooms and an 11,000 square feet of gallery space. It also has a seven hundred and fifty seat auditorium and offices for the departments of art and history.
