Description

Rodin statue, titled, "The Thinker" was bought by Ralph T. King in 1917. It was given to the Cleveland Museum of Art and was originally held in the Rotunda. Whiting, who was the Museum's first director, thought that the statue would not receive enough lighting and a couple months after it was bought, it was moved outside. It stood in front of the south entrance of the Cleveland Museum of Art.
